Every calculator and guide follows the same process. We start from the real decision a reader is facing, research the rules and figures from primary sources such as the relevant labour department, tax authority, or published survey, and write without motivational filler. Where a figure comes from a specific source, we cite it and link to the original. Where rules differ by country or US state, we say so rather than generalising, and where the honest answer is that it depends, we say that too.
Calculators are built to show their working. The formula and assumptions for every tool are published on the methodology page, and each tool explains its math on its own page. Nothing is a black box, and outputs are framed as educational estimates, not advice from a licensed professional.
